Hush Puppy Bake

Ingredients

• Servings: 8
• 1 (8 ounce) package hush puppy mix with onion
• 2 cups boiling water
• 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
• 3 egg yolks
• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1 teaspoon sugar
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
• 3 egg whites, stiffly beaten

Recipe

• 1 heat oven to 375 degrees. grease a 2 quart glass baking dish.
• 2 in medium mixing bowl, combine hush puppy mix and water; stir until smooth. add butter, egg yolks, buttermilk, sugar and baking soda; mix well. fold in egg whites.
• 3 pour into greased casserole.
• 4 bake for 50 to 55 minutes or until golden brown and set. serve warm.
• 5 store loosely covered in refrigerator.
