Faux Guacamole

Ingredients

  • 15 ounces very young baby peas, drained
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup prepared salsa
  • 2 teaspoons bottled lime juice or 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried cilantro
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 in a small mixing bowl, mash the peas with a potato masher or fork, or process them with a hand blender or food processor. don't overprocess; some texture is good. add the remaining ingredients and stir until blended.
  • 2 consider serving with tortilla chips, canned sliced olives, sour cream, or shredded cheddar cheese.
