Onion Yorkshire Puddings

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1/2 lb onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour, plus
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup milk

Recipe

  • 1 saute onions, half the salt, and pepper in butter in a large skillet until tender but not browned.
  • 2 divide among eight 6-oz. ramekins or custard cups.
  • 3 in a large bowl, combine flour and remaining salt.
  • 4 combine the eggs, water and milk and whisk into the flour mixture just until blended.
  • 5 fill each ramekin with 1/4 cup of batter.
  • 6 bake at 400°f for 30-35 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
