Salsa Del Norte

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 1/2 lbs whole roma tomatoes, unpealed
  • 1/2 medium onion, cut into chunks
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 -3 fresh jalapeno peppers
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 -3 tablespoons vinegar (cider or cane)

Recipe

  • 1 heat broiler. place tomatoes on a small baking sheet lined with foil. broil 15-18 minutes, turning a couple times until soft, skins have split, and there are some dark spots. allow to cool slightly.
  • 2 place tomatoes with rest of ingredients in a blender. puree. serve warm or refrigerate for later use.
