Crusty Cheese Rings

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 2 teaspoons vinegar
  • 1/2 cup grated swiss cheese or 1/2 cup monterey jack cheese or 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg , slightly beaten

Recipe

  • 1 combine flour and butter in mixing bowl.
  • 2 cut butter into flour until slightly smaller than peas.
  • 3 mix in cream and vinegar with a fork.
  • 4 stir in cheese.
  • 5 form dough into a ball.
  • 6 roll dough out on floured surface to 1/4" thick.
  • 7 cut into rings using a doughnut cutter.
  • 8 place rings and centers (holes) on ungreased baking sheet about 1" apart.
  • 9 chill for 30 minute.
  • 10 brush tops with egg .
  • 11 sprinkle with add'l cheese.
  • 12 bake at 450 degrees for about 10 minute or until lightly browned.
  • 13 serve hot.
