Saganaki

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 8 ounces kasseri cheese
  • flour (for dredging)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • ouzo
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon fresh oregano
  • fresh cherry tomatoes
  • pita bread, wedges
  • kalamata olive

Recipe

  • 1 soak the cheese in ouzo and dredge in flour.
  • 2 heat olive oil until almost smoking.
  • 3 sauté cheese and brown about 1 minute on each side.
  • 4 flame with more ouzo.
  • 5 transfer to serving platter and squeeze lemon juice and sprinkle oregano and salt and pepper.
  • 6 serve with pita bread, olives and tomatoes.
