Slow Cooker Fondue

Total Time: 2 hrs 10 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 cups wine
  • 1 lb swiss cheese, grated (can use emmental or gruyere)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 put the wine in the slow cooker and cook on high for 1 hour.
  • 2 dredge the cheese in the flour.
  • 3 add the cheese and flour, plus salt and pepper to taste, to the hot wine.
  • 4 do not stir!
  • 5 cover and cook for 1/2 hour.
  • 6 stir until smooth.
  • 7 continue to cook for 1/2 hour more.
  • 8 stir to make sure there are no chunks of unmelted cheese remaining.
  • 9 *your preference: you can add a fiery cherry brandy (kirshwasser) just before serving.
