Sauerbraten Meatballs Weight Watchers Points Friendly

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 lb 93% lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 16 small gingersnaps, finely crushed and divided in half
  • 2 cups nonfat beef broth
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Recipe

  • 1 1. preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • 2 2. combine meat, onion egg , salt, pepper and half of the ginger snaps. gently combine and form into 30 coctail size meatballs.
  • 3 3. place meatballs on a rack in a shallow pan.
  • 4 4. bake meatballs for about 15-20 minutes until browned.
  • 5 5. combine beef broth, apple cider, sugar and the rest of the crushed gingersnaps in a saucepan. simmer over low heat, stirring often, until thick and smooth.
  • 6 6. add cooked meatballs to gravy and simmer for 15 minutes.
