My Greek Meatballs

Total Time: 1 hr 50 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr 30 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 slices bread (crusts removed, torn)
  • 1/4 cup ouzo
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup onion (minced)
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 2 teaspoons mint (minced)
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • fresh cracked pepper (to taste)
  • flour (as needed)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Recipe

  • 1 soak bread in ouzo for 5 minutes. squeeze dry.
  • 2 heat oil in a skillet.
  • 3 add onions. saute 3 minutes. remove. let cool.
  • 4 stir into bread, turkey, egg, mint, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper.
  • 5 shape into meatballs. coat with flour.
  • 6 place on a rack over a baking sheet. chill 1 hour.
  • 7 heat oil in a skillet.
  • 8 add meatballs. brown 10-15 minutes.
