Hot Sausage Dip (light)

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 lb hot italian turkey sausage
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 (10 ounce) cans rotel tomatoes & chilies
  • 1 (8 ounce) package neufchatel cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups light sour cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 remove casings from turkey sausage links and brown in a skillet with diced onions and crushed red pepper flakes.
  • 2 once turkey sausage is cooked through, drain fat from skillet.
  • 3 drain both cans of rotel and add to sausage and onions.
  • 4 add cream cheese, sour cream, and shredded cheddar cheese to skillet and remove from heat once the cheese has melted and the mixture has combined.
  • 5 season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • 6 transfer to mini slow cooker to keep warm, and enjoy with thinly sliced baguette or tortilla chips.
