Guacamole Del Turco (avokado Ezmesi)

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe avocado, peeled and pitted
  • 3 tablespoons greek yogurt (or plain yogurt drained)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons cornichons, cut in small cubes (small pickled cucumbers)
  • 1 pinch crushed cayenne pepper (optional)
  • salt (probably unnecessary because the feta is salty)
  • pepper
  • 1 tablespoon red onion, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 in a large bowl, mash the avocado with the yogurt and lemon juice. stir in the other ingredients except the red onion garnish. i added a little more lemon juice.
  • 2 transfer to a serving bowl. garnish the red onion on top. i sprinkled a light dusting of cayenne pepper and scattered a few crumbles of feta on top, too.
  • 3 serving suggestions: tortilla chips, toasted pide or turkish bread slices, crackers, french bread, etc.
