caprese on toast

Ingredients

  • Servings: 14
  • 14 slices sourdough bread
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1 pound fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced 1/4-inch thick
  • 1/3 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 3 large tomatoes, sliced 1/4-inch thick
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

    Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 5 mins Ready Time: 20 mins

  • toast bread slices and rub one side of each slice with garlic. place a slice of mozzarella cheese, 1 to 2 basil leaves, and a slice of tomato on each piece of toast. drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.
